Aaryn DuBose isn't waiting for doors to open. He's already inside and holding the door for everyone behind him.

A fourth-year student at Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine, Aaryn carries a leadership load that would humble most. He manages the core lab in the biomedical research department, serves as Class of 2027 president, VP-elect of SAVMA, vice president of the Veterinary Surgery Club, and student representative for Nestlé Purina. All at once. All with intention.

His goal? To travel the world as a veterinary surgeon. And if you know Aaryn, you don't doubt it for a second.

When asked what he'd tell his younger self, he doesn't flinch: "Persist and never surrender to life's challenges. Success is not just about talent, it's about perseverance." That's not a platitude coming from him. It's a lived truth.

His biggest inspiration is his mother. "Her sacrifices have been my guiding light," he says, and you can hear the weight and the gratitude behind every word.

After long days of labs, lectures, and leadership, Aaryn resets at the gym. For him it's not about aesthetics — it's about armor. "Exercise helps me clear my mind and recharge." Each session is how he stays sharp enough to keep showing up at full capacity.

But what drives Aaryn most is bigger than his own ambitions. He's on a mission to show the next generation of African American professionals that there is a seat at the table — and that they belong in it. "Through my work, I aim to show that dreams are achievable, regardless of the obstacles."

Vet Candy is proud to name Aaryn DuBose a Rising Star of 2026. He's already blazing the trail. Watch this space.
