The National Association for Black Veterinarians (NABV) hosted its Fifth Annual Conference and Scholarship Gala on June 5–7, 2025, at the JW Marriott in New Orleans. This milestone event featured keynote speaker Dr. Robert Livingston, dynamic sessions on veterinary innovation and diversity, networking opportunities, and an Innovation Showcase. Attendees included veterinary professionals, students, and industry leaders from across the country. The 2026 NABV Conference is scheduled for June 25–27, again in New Orleans. Lakhia Fuller's great awakening

Originally born and raised in the small city of Goldsboro, North Carolina, LakhiaFuller is currently a second-year student at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After earning a B.S. in Biology from Winston-Salem State University in 2019, a M.S. in Agriculture and Environmental Sciences from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 2021, this first-generation college student decided to pursue her passion for pets, with an interest in mixed animal medicine, small and exotics, and emergency.
