Free Veterinary Checkups Now Available for Eligible Pet Owners in Nashville

Keeping up with routine veterinary care isn't always easy, especially when budgets are tight. A new round of funding is helping make that a little easier for many pet owners in Nashville.

The Pet Community Center (PCC) has announced an expansion of its financial assistance program, offering free wellness examinations for qualifying pet owners thanks to new donations from the PEDIGREE Foundation and Humane World for Animals.

The expanded program is designed to help keep pets healthy while reducing financial barriers to preventive care. Eligible groups include:

• Veterans and active-duty military members

• Individuals experiencing homelessness

• Adults age 65 and older

• College and trade school students

In addition to free wellness exams, some qualifying pet owners may also be eligible to receive free anti-anxiety medications for their dogs and cats, helping pets cope with fear, stress, and anxiety while easing the financial burden of treatment.

Preventive veterinary care is one of the most effective ways to keep pets healthy. Regular wellness visits allow veterinarians to identify medical problems early, provide vaccinations, discuss nutrition and parasite prevention, and answer owners' questions before small issues become larger, more expensive health concerns.

The Pet Community Center has long focused on making veterinary care more accessible to underserved communities throughout Middle Tennessee. By expanding its financial assistance program, the organization hopes to ensure that more families can keep their beloved pets healthy regardless of financial circumstances.
