New internal medicine consensus on feline pancreatitis

A panel of eight experts from the American Veterinary College of Internal Medicine was assembled to review the current available literature regarding the etiology and pathogenesis of spontaneous pancreatitis in cats. Most of the evidence found was in the diagnosis of pancreatitis, and minimal evidence on the management of it in cats. In conclusion, they found that acute pancreatitis was far easier to diagnosis than chronic, and that all clinical signs and available diagnostics should be used upon diagnosis. More evidence on effective management of this condition in cats is needed.
