Green-lipped mussel effects in dogs with osteoarthritis

A study evaluated the effect of a diet enriched with green-lipped mussel  in 23 client owned dogs with osteoarthritic dogs.

The dogs  were fed a balanced control diet for thirty days and then a green-lipped mussel -enriched balanced diet for the next sixty days.

The green-lipped mussel diet resulted in an increase in concentrations of plasma omega-3 fatty acids and improvement of peak vertical force.
