Relationship between periodontal and systemic disease

 A retrospective study evaluated the association between periodontal and systemic disease in 136 client owned dogs.  The main goal of this retrospective study was to access and evaluate the association

Results:

Periodontal disease was found more commonly in small breeds (<10 Kg.)  There was no difference found with gender or reproductive status. A statistically significant association was obtained between periodontal disease and cardiac disease.
