Ropinirole as an emetic agent

Ropinirole as an emetic agent

Ropinirole at a target dose of 3.75 mg/m2 was applied to eyes of 100 dogs and 32 dogs received placebo eye drops. Ninety-five percent of dogs receiving the drops vomited within 30 minutes with a medium time of 10 minutes. None of the dogs receiving placebo vomited in this time period.

Adverse effects noted included ocular hyperemia, however all signs were transient and in most cases mild.
