Mini Schnauzer Health Study Released

Mini Schnauzer Health Study Released

A recent study in the UK examined health data of 3857 Miniature Schnauzers from over 300 clinics with an aim to understand common health problems of the breed.

  • Mean adult bodyweight overall was 9.9 kg

  • Median longevity was 11.6 years

  • The most common disorders recorded were periodontal disease, obesity/overweight, anal sac impaction, vomiting, and otitis externa.

Awareness of common diseases and breed predispositions can support evidence-based policies to improve breed health and guide veterinarians when producing differential diagnosis lists.
