Vet Candy’s Free NAVLE Course Could Change How Vet Students Study Forever
Vet Candy today announced major updates to its free NAVLE Prep Intensive Program, expanding the platform with new specialist-led video content, an original six-book educational series, a practice question bank, and enhanced multimedia learning tools designed to support veterinary students preparing for licensure.
The North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE) is a required, computer-based exam for veterinarians seeking to practice in the United States and Canada. Administered by the International Council for Veterinary Assessment (ICVA), the exam evaluates clinical knowledge and decision-making skills through 360 multiple-choice questions drawn from real-world clinical scenarios spanning multiple species and medical disciplines. For most veterinary graduates, passing the NAVLE is the final — and most consequential — step before entering professional practice.
Beginning with the 2025–2026 testing cycle, the ICVA expanded NAVLE availability to three testing windows per year, giving students greater flexibility in scheduling their preparation and licensure timeline:
October 15 – November 15, 2025 (Application period: June 2 – July 15)
March 1 – March 21, 2026 (Application period: December 1 – January 7)
July 13 – August 8, 2026 (Application period: April 1 – May 7)
Vet Candy's updated program is designed to support students across all three windows, offering self-paced access to comprehensive content aligned with the ICVA NAVLE blueprint. Coursework covers the five most commonly tested species — dog, cat, horse, cow, and pig — while addressing the full breadth of ICVA species and disease categories.
