Got Anxiety? Try This

Working hard is not just the American way, but a global phenomenon. Developed countries around the world are so overworked, some people are choosing suicide over yet another 100 hour work week. The world has gotten more intricately woven than ever before, and the result isn't just longer hours and more productivity—it's a lot of stress and anxiety.

If you're suffering from anxiety, there may be a way to help ease those feelings. Studies have found that you can reduce anxiety by going on a social media diet.

We spend hours of our day every day scrolling through social media. We watch jealously as our friends marry, have babies, or go on amazing vacations. We feel fat as they announce they've lost 5 pounds, or gloat as they rant about boyfriend trouble.

Social media is an extreme social environment that is curated by other people. This can make it look like other people are more together than they really are, or that they seem to have more fun than you do.

If you find yourself anxious all the time, it could be social media causing the problem. Luckily, you can test it. Delete your Facebook app, say good-bye to twitter, and say no to social media for 10 days. At first, you'll probably find yourself automatically trying to log in every 15 minutes, but over time, the desire to see what's up in other people's lives may ease.

Staying way from social media can make a big difference in your life. Try it, and enjoy the benefits a little social media break can offer you.
