They suggested fortifying titanium (Ti) implants with 3 wt.% copper (Cu) via multi-material additive manufacturing, which not only inherently protects the implant against bacterial infection but also enhances biocompatibility by adding tantalum (Ta) to facilitate early-stage osseointegration.
