This Cornell Vet Student Survived Homelessness. Now She's Rewriting the Rules on Who Gets to Be a Veterinarian
Sydney Paris is a first-generation veterinary student at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine dedicated to access-to-care, equity, and community-based veterinary medicine. As the founder of the First-Generation Low-Income Veterinary Student Association, she is working to expand mentorship, representation, and opportunity within the veterinary profession. Through resilience, empathy, and advocacy, Sydney is helping reshape veterinary education and care to better support underserved communities, students, and animals.
