New Veterinary Technician Association AACVT Officially Launches Nationwide

The American Association of Credentialed Veterinary Technicians (AACVT) has officially launched, marking a major milestone in advancing advocacy, professional identity, and career development for credentialed veterinary technicians (CrVTs) across the United States.

The launch comes at a time when the veterinary profession continues to rely heavily on skilled technicians who are essential to patient care, client education, and overall clinical outcomes. Despite their critical role, many credentialed veterinary technicians have expressed a need for a stronger, more unified professional community that reflects their values and supports long-term growth.

That gap became increasingly clear to industry leaders Beckie Mossor, MPA, RVT, and Ryan Frazier, LVT, BS, MBA, who, after stepping away from an existing national association, began engaging directly with veterinary professionals across the country.

Through those conversations, a consistent theme emerged: many CrVTs feel underrepresented, disconnected, or overlooked within traditional professional structures. In response, Mossor and Frazier co-founded AACVT to create a technician-led organization designed to better reflect the needs of the profession.

A Member-Driven Vision for Veterinary Technicians

AACVT is built on a member-led governance model, with leadership exclusively held by credentialed veterinary technicians. This structure ensures that the direction of the organization is shaped by professionals actively working in the field.

The association is grounded in four core pillars:

Advocacy – Advancing recognition, rights, and professional standards for veterinary technicians nationwide.
Leadership Development – Providing mentorship, training, and career advancement opportunities.
Education – Delivering continuing education and professional development resources.
Community – Building an inclusive space for connection, collaboration, and shared experience.

“AACVT was created to ensure that credentialed veterinary technicians are not only heard, but are leading the conversation,” said co-founder Beckie Mossor. “This organization reflects the needs, values, and vision of the professionals it serves.”

AACVT Kick-Off Event Set for May 1–3

To celebrate its launch, AACVT will host a three-day virtual Kick-Off Event from May 1 through May 3, focused on engagement, education, and community-building within the veterinary technician profession.

Looking Ahead

The launch of AACVT represents a significant step forward for the veterinary technician profession, placing emphasis on advocacy, leadership, education, and community. The organization aims to strengthen the voice of credentialed veterinary technicians and elevate their role within the broader veterinary healthcare system.

AACVT is inviting all credentialed veterinary technicians to join, participate in upcoming initiatives, and help shape the future of the profession.
