Koala Health Secures $20 Million in Series B Funding to Revolutionize Pet Medication Delivery

Pet health startup Koala Health has raised $20 million in Series B funding, setting its sights on transforming the way chronic pet medications are delivered and managed in the U.S.

Led by Valspring Capital, the new investment aims to fuel Koala’s rapid growth, expand its technology offerings, and strengthen partnerships with veterinary clinics nationwide. The company’s mission is to modernize and simplify pet medication management through a mobile-first, digitally integrated platform that benefits both veterinarians and pet owners.

“Veterinary clinics are stretched thin, and pet owners often struggle to stay on top of chronic medications,” said Gavin Cotter, CEO and founder of Koala Health. “Koala’s platform solves both problems with a solution that’s fast, reliable, and built for the realities of modern pet care.”

A Seamless Bridge Between Vets and Pet Parents

Koala Health operates in all 50 states and currently reaches more than 80 million pet owners via its online pharmacy platform. For veterinarians, Koala offers a fully integrated prescription system now available to over 25,000 independent clinics, helping eliminate the logistical and financial challenges of in-house pharmacy management.

“Koala Health is redefining the pet prescription experience,” said Yumin Choi of Valspring Capital. “By creating a direct, tech-enabled connection between clinics and pet owners, they’re setting a new standard in veterinary healthcare delivery.”

Why This Matters

  • Convenience: Pet parents can manage prescriptions with just a few clicks.

  • Efficiency: Clinics reduce their workload without sacrificing care continuity.

  • Scalability: Koala's tech-driven model is designed to scale nationwide with minimal friction.

  • Market readiness: With rising demand for at-home solutions and pharmacy integration, Koala is meeting the moment.

The funding round comes amid growing interest in digital health solutions for pets—particularly those that address the chronic medication needs of aging pets and streamline communications between clinics and caregivers.

The Bigger Picture

Koala’s approach reflects broader trends in veterinary care: a push toward digital transformation, rising pet ownership, and the increasing consumer expectation for on-demand services. As clinics struggle with staffing shortages and pet parents demand more seamless experiences, Koala appears well-positioned to fill a critical gap in the market.
