Purdue College of Veterinary Medicine Appoints New Assistant Dean
Effective June 1, 2025, Leslie Martin has been appointed as the Assistant Dean for Administration at the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine (PVM). Martin currently serves as the college’s Director of Financial Affairs and will step into this newly created leadership role to oversee administrative processes, financial operations, and strategic business initiatives.
The announcement was made by Dean Dr. Bret Marsh, who emphasized Martin’s key role on the senior leadership team. “Leslie will serve as a strategic problem solver and a vital connector across Purdue,” he said.
Bringing Experience and Vision to the Role
Martin joined Purdue in 2012 and has held various administrative and financial roles across campus, including positions in research administration and departmental business management. She transitioned to the College of Veterinary Medicine in 2023 and quickly became a central figure in its financial operations.
“I’ve learned so much about the college over the past year,” Martin said. “This new position will allow me to continue that work while expanding my impact on both the operational and financial sides of PVM.”
A Personal and Professional Journey
Martin grew up in Carroll County, Indiana, and is a Purdue alumna with an MBA from Purdue Global. Her career includes time in the banking industry, as well as multiple roles in research grants, procurement, and departmental finance at Purdue. In addition to her professional accomplishments, she serves on Purdue’s Management and Professional Staff Advisory Committee (MaPSAC) and chairs its compensation and benefits subcommittee.
She lives in Wolcott, Indiana, with her husband and their three children, along with a household of pets—two dogs and two cats. Outside of work, Martin stays busy with family activities ranging from youth sports to 4-H and ATV racing.
Supporting the College’s Continued Growth
In her new role, Martin will support Purdue Veterinary Medicine’s ongoing development as a top-tier institution, including its advanced veterinary medical complex and the Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (ADDL). She says she’s eager to build new collaborations and support the college’s mission.
“I’m excited to contribute to PVM’s growth and continue supporting our commitment to excellence in veterinary education and service,” Martin said.
